UL 495:2016 PDF Download

The UL 495:2016 Standard for Power-Operated Dispensing Devices for LP-Gas provides requirements for power-operated dispensing devices that are installed outside of buildings and used at service stations for dispensing liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as an engine fuel. This standard complements the installation and usage requirements outlined in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code (NFPA 58) and the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70).

The standard covers not only the dispensing devices themselves but also the wiring methods used to install or connect control equipment that is located directly on or within the housing of the device. However, it does not cover control equipment that authorizes, monitors, or interrupts the operation of the dispensing device. Examples of such equipment include panel mounted equipment adjacent to the device, remote consoles inside permanent structures, and auxiliary equipment attached to or enclosed by the device's pedestal and housing.
