UL 810B:2021 is a standard that specifies the requirements for DC power capacitors. These capacitors are designed for use in DC power electronic applications such as switching circuits, DC filtering, and renewable energy systems. The standard applies to capacitors with or without integral protection that reduce the risk of rupture and venting of the capacitor enclosure under internal fault conditions.

The standard also allows for the investigation of other types of capacitors to establish compliance with the requirements, as well as any additional test criteria that may be necessary. However, it should be noted that UL 810B does not include requirements for electrochemical capacitors, which are covered under UL 810A, or AC motor capacitors or power factor correction capacitors, which are covered under UL 810.
