Standard EN SampleAutomatic Electrical Controls for Household and Similar Use; Part 2: Particular Requirements for Energy Regulators
Also Known As:
UL 60730-2-11:2018 is a standard that specifies the particular requirements for energy regulators used in household and similar equipment. It covers regulators used in various applications such as heating, air conditioning, and other similar uses. The standard applies to regulators that are operated thermally, mechanically, or electrically.
The scope of this standard includes the safety aspects, operating values, operating times, and operating sequence of the energy regulators. The standard also covers testing procedures for these devices to ensure their safe and reliable operation. It is applicable to both electrical and non-electrical types of regulators.
The standard does not apply to energy regulators designed exclusively for industrial applications. However, it does include regulators used in equipment that may be used by the public, such as in shops, light industry, and farms. The standard also includes requirements for manual energy regulators that are electrically and/or mechanically integrated with automatic controls.
UL 60730-2-11:2018 applies to regulators with a rated voltage of not more than 690 V and a rated current of not more than 63 A. It also covers regulators that incorporate electronic devices and those that use NTC or PTC thermistors, with additional requirements specified in Annex h and Annex J, respectively.
