The UL 2577:2018 standard addresses the requirements for low voltage/extra-low voltage systems and equipment used in suspended ceiling grids. The standard specifies that the suspended ceiling grid low voltage/extra-low voltage system must be permanently connected and installed indoors in dry locations. This standard also covers systems intended for use in air-handling spaces but does not address requirements for hazardous locations, patient care areas, or emergency systems. It also does not evaluate the system for seismic requirements or fire resistance.
