UL 83:2020 PDF Download

The UL 83:2020 standard specifies the requirements for single-conductor wires and cables with a thermoplastic insulation rated at 600 V. These wires and cables are intended for use in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, in compliance with their respective electrical codes: CSA C22.1 (CE Code) in Canada, NOM-001-SEDE (Standard for Electrical Installations) in Mexico, and ANSI/NFPA 70 (NEC) in the United States.

Additionally, the standard also includes requirements for submersible-pump cables, with or without jackets, which are not assigned any type-letter designations. However, the requirements for multiple-conductor thermoplastic-insulated and -jacketed cables rated at 600 V in Mexico are specified in Annex B of the standard. In Canada and the United States, the requirements for multiple-conductor cables of this type are covered in other standards.

It is worth noting that the products covered by this standard may have applications that are not specifically described in the electrical codes mentioned in Clause 1.
