Standard EN SampleStandard for Automatic Electrical Controls for Household and Similar Use; Part 2: Particular Requirements for Automatic Electrical Air Flow, Water Flow and Water Level Sensing Controls
Also Known As:
The UL 60730-2-15:2019 standard specifies the requirements for automatic electrical controls used in conjunction with air flow, water flow, and water level sensing in various applications.
This standard covers controls used in boilers with a maximum pressure rating of 2,000 kPA, as well as general household equipment such as heating and air conditioning systems. It also applies to controls used in commercial, industrial, and public applications like shops, offices, hospitals, farms, and more.
The standard addresses the inherent safety, operating values, operating sequences, and testing of these automatic electrical controls. It applies to controls used in appliances within the scope of IEC 60335-1 and controls used by the public that may not be intended for normal household use. It also covers controls used in control systems or controls that are mechanically integrated with multifunctional controls.
However, it should be noted that this standard does not apply to pressure sensing controls, which are covered in IEC 60730-2-61. Additionally, the standard does not apply to air flow, water flow, and water level sensing controls exclusively designed for industrial applications, unless stated in the relevant equipment standard.
The UL 60730-2-15:2019 standard also includes requirements for controls used in commercial and industrial applications where no other standard currently covers the product. It applies to both mechanically and electrically operated controls that are responsive to or control air flow, water flow, and water level.
