Standard EN SampleStandard for Household Electric Clocks
Also Known As:
The UL 826:2016 standard specifies the requirements for electrically operated clocks used in ordinary indoor locations. This standard applies to clocks with an input rating of not more than 30 watts and 250 volts.
The standard explicitly states that it does not cover clocks intended for industrial or commercial installations, clocks that are part of a master clock system, outdoor clocks, time stamps, job card recorders, timers, or illuminated clocks used as portable electric lamps or for other illuminating purposes.
Furthermore, the standard emphasizes that any product with new or different features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems that pose a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to individuals must be evaluated using additional requirements to maintain the original level of safety. Products that conflict with the specific requirements or provisions of this standard are considered non-compliant. Any revisions to the standard must follow the established methods employed for development, revision, and implementation of this standard.
