Standard EN SampleRoad Vehicles - Electrical Disturbances from Conduction and Coupling - Part 3: Electrical Transient Transmission by Capacitive and Inductive Coupling via Lines Other Than Supply Lines
Also Known As:
ISO 7637-3:2007 is a standard that provides a test method for evaluating the immunity of devices in road vehicles to transient transmission through coupling via lines other than supply lines. The standard addresses both fast and slow transient disturbances, which can be caused by inductive load switching and relay contact bounce.
The standard describes three test methods: the capacitive coupling clamp (CCC) method, the direct capacitive coupling (DCC) method, and the inductive coupling clamp (ICC) method. Depending on the type of transient being tested, only one method needs to be selected.
ISO 7637-3:2007 is applicable to road vehicles equipped with 12 V, 24 V, or 42 V electrical systems. It provides recommended test severity levels for transient immunity in accordance with the functional performance status classification (FPSC) principle described in ISO 7637-1.
