The IES LM-79-19 standard provides a set of guidelines for conducting accurate and reproducible measurements of various parameters related to solid-state lighting (SSL) products. These measurements include total luminous, radiant, or photon flux; electrical power; system efficacy; luminous, radiant, or photon intensity distribution; and color quantities and/or spectrum.

The standard applies to various types of SSL products, including LED luminaires, OLED luminaires, integrated LED lamps, integrated OLED lamps, non-integrated LED lamps operated with a specified driver, and LED light engines. SSL products, with the exception of non-integrated LED lamps, are designed to be directly connected to either AC main power or a DC voltage power supply for operation.
