The IEEE C57.18.10-2021 standard provides guidelines and requirements for transformers used in semiconductor power rectifiers, inverters, furnaces, and adjustable speed drives. It specifically addresses dedicated loads that are rated single-phase 100 kW and above and three-phase 100 kW and above.

The standard excludes certain types of loads such as static precipitators, high-voltage converters for dc power transmission, and mixed loads with more than 10% non-converter fundamental frequency power content.
