Equipment for General Lighting Purposes - EMC Immunity Requirements
Also Known As:
IEC 61547:2009 is a standard that specifies the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) immunity requirements for equipment used in general lighting purposes. This standard applies to various lighting equipment, including lamps, auxiliaries, and luminaires, that are designed to be connected to a low voltage electricity supply or operated on batteries.
The purpose of this standard is to ensure that the lighting equipment is immune to electromagnetic disturbances that could affect its performance or cause malfunctions. The standard sets out specific requirements for the equipment's immunity to different types of electromagnetic disturbances, including electrostatic discharge, electrical fast transients, and conducted and radiated disturbances.
It is important to note that this standard does not apply to equipment for which the immunity requirements are covered by other IEC or CISPR standards. The main changes in the 2009 revision of the standard include updating the references to the basic standards and making some editorial changes in the tables. Additionally, the contents of the corrigendum of April 2010 and Interpretation Sheet 1 of June 2013 have been incorporated into the copy of the standard.
