Fixed Capacitors for Use in Electronic Equipment - Part 19: Sectional Specification: Fixed Metallized Polyethylene-Terephthalate Film Dielectric Surface Mount D.C. Capacitors
Also Known As:
IEC 60384-19:2015 is a standard that specifies the requirements and characteristics of fixed surface mount capacitors for direct current (DC) use in electronic equipment. These capacitors have a polyethylene-terephthalate dielectric and metallized electrodes. They are designed to be mounted directly onto substrates or printed boards in electronic circuits. The capacitors may have self-healing properties, depending on the specific conditions of use.
This standard does not cover capacitors intended for electromagnetic interference suppression, as those are covered in a separate standard (IEC 60384-14). The revision of this standard includes updates based on the IEC Directives Part 2:2011 (sixth edition) and aims to harmonize with other similar documents.
The main changes in this edition include the revision of all parts of the document according to the IEC Directives, as well as harmonization between other similar documents. Tables and Clause 4 have also been revised to avoid duplications and contradictions.
