Fixed Capacitors for Use in Electronic Equipment - Part 1: Generic Specification
Also Known As:
IEC 60384-1:2021 is a comprehensive standard that provides a generic specification for fixed capacitors used in electronic equipment. The standard aims to establish uniform terms, inspection procedures, and methods of testing for these capacitors to ensure consistent quality and performance across different electronic components. It serves as a reference for creating more specific sectional and detail specifications for capacitors and can be used for quality assessment purposes.
This updated edition of the standard introduces several significant technical changes. First, the document has been restructured to align with the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2. This ensures compliance and consistency in the organization of information. Additionally, a new technical categorization of test methods has been introduced, allowing for a more systematic approach to testing. As a result, the test methods have been reorganized based on these categories, and accompanying tables, figures, and references have been revised accordingly. Finally, a new annex, Annex X, has been included to facilitate the comparison of this edition with the previous edition of the standard.
