Standard ENFR Sample 1 Sample 2 Sample 3 EN FRResidual current operated circuit-breakers with integral overcurrent protection for household and similar uses (RCBOs) - Part 1: General rules
Also Known As:
IEC 61009-1:2010+A1:2012+A2:2013 is a standard that applies to residual current operated circuit breakers with integral overcurrent protection, known as RCBOs, for household and similar uses. The standard specifies the general rules that these devices must comply with. This includes their functionality, dependence on line voltage, rated voltages and currents, and short circuit capacities.
The third edition of the standard, which was published in 2010, includes several technical changes compared to the previous editions. This includes a complete revision of electromagnetic compatibility sequences, clarification of current/time characteristics of RCDs, revision of test procedures for certain current ranges, testing procedures for using RCBOs in IT systems, testing procedures for fault currents with a 6mA DC current superimposed, and improvements for RCDs with multiple sensitivity.
This consolidated version of the standard includes the third edition, its amendments 1 and 2, and a corrigendum issued in January 2014. Therefore, there is no need to order additional amendments.
