The ICEA S-76-474:2011 standard is applicable to the construction and testing of assemblies of extruded insulation power cables with neutral support, designed to withstand various weather conditions. This standard specifically focuses on the overhead distribution of electrical energy, where the cables are suspended from supporting structures.

The standard defines the types of cables that fall under its scope, which include neutral supported service drop cables and neutral supported secondary distribution cables. These cables are suitable for circuits with voltages not exceeding 600 volts phase-to-phase or 480 volts phase-to-ground, and have a normal service conductor temperature rating of either 75°C or 90°C.

In cases where a referenced industry standard conflicts with the requirements of ICEA S-76-474:2011, the latter takes precedence. The standard primarily uses the English system of units, but there is also an appendix that provides conversion factors to metric units for convenience. Additionally, the recommended bending radii for phase conductors and cable assemblies are provided in an appendix.
