Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-76: Particular Requirements for Electric Fence Energizers
Also Known As:
CSA C22.2 NO. 60335-2-76:21 is a standard that specifies the safety requirements for electric fence energizers. This standard applies to electric fence energizers with a rated voltage of up to 250 V that are used to electrify or monitor fence wires in agricultural, domestic, or security fences for animal control purposes.
The standard covers various types of electric fence energizers, including mains-operated energizers, battery-operated energizers suitable for connection to the mains, and electric fence energizers operated by non-rechargeable batteries. It does not specifically consider the use of these appliances by young children or infirm persons without supervision, or the playing with appliances by young children.
The standard does note that additional requirements may be necessary for appliances intended to be used on board ships or aircraft, as well as requirements specified by national health authorities, labor protection authorities, and other similar authorities in different countries. It also specifies that it does not apply to electromagnetically coupled animal trainer collars, appliances used in locations with special conditions, separate battery chargers, electric fishing machines, electric animal-stunning equipment, and appliances for medical purposes.
