Substations and High Voltage Installations Exceeding 1 kV a.c
Also Known As:
AS 2067:2016 is a standard that provides minimum requirements for the design and erection of high voltage installations exceeding 1 kV a.c. The standard applies to various types of high voltage installations such as electricity network substations, electrical installations of power stations, offshore platforms, and consumer installations serving premises like factories, commercial facilities, and mine sites.
The standard covers a wide range of equipment found in high voltage installations, including high voltage electrical installations on masts, poles, and towers, switchgear and transformers located outside closed electrical operating areas, rotating electrical machines, switchgear and controlgear assemblies, transformers and reactors, converters, cables, transmission lines, wiring systems, batteries and associated d.c. supply systems, capacitors, earthing systems, buildings and fences within closed electrical operating areas, and protection, control, auxiliary, and ancillary systems.
It is important to note that this standard is applicable unless there is a product standard for a specific equipment item, in which case the product standard takes precedence. The objective of AS 2067:2016 is to ensure the safety and proper functioning of high voltage installations, providing a guideline for their design and construction.
