Report / Survey EN SampleAES Standards Project Report - Synchronization of Digital Audio over Wide Areas
Also Known As:
The AES R8-2015 standard addresses the challenges of synchronizing digital audio signals in scenarios where they are transmitted over a wide network. Traditionally, in a studio environment, all equipment within the same studio could be synchronized easily, but when signals are transmitted between studios over a digital network, synchronization becomes more complex.
The purpose of this standard is to offer guidance to system implementers who need to ensure that audio signals originating in digital form in one location can be transmitted over a digital network to another location while maintaining sample timing synchronization. The document aims to provide solutions and best practices to address the synchronization issues that arise in these scenarios.
